Maisons du Monde is committed to partnering with organizations to create living spaces for those in greatest need. Since the launch of Good is beautiful, 80 solidarity living spaces have been established. Our goal by the end of 2025 is to create 100 Good is beautiful living spaces across Europe.
The Maisons du Monde Foundation provides financial support and assistance to grassroots organizations to preserve trees in France and internationally. Since its creation in 2015, it has already donated more than 9 million euros.
As a company, we have a role to play in society. As such, we support grassroots associations. Together, we work to protect forests and trees across the world and help provide those who need it most with welcoming and safe places to live.
More and more actions with associations in favor of the environment and those in need is the commitment #2 of our Good is beautiful movement.
After more than 10 years of philanthropy, Maisons du Monde solidified its commitment to biodiversity preservation in the long term by creating the Maisons du Monde Foundation in 2015.
The Maisons du Monde Foundation is committed to preserving trees wherever there is an urgent need for action, focusing on two main areas:
- Financial support and assistance for organizations that implement on-the-ground preservation programs led by and for local populations.
- The establishment of environmental awareness and nature reconnection programs for the general public.
More than 9 million euros have been donated by the Maisons du Monde Foundation to support 68 nonprofit projects worldwide.
Since early 2017, our partnership with microDON has given our customers the opportunity to round up their purchases at checkout and donate the spare change to a project supported by the Maisons du Monde Foundation. In total, over 23 million donations have been made thanks to the support of our customers through the rounding up initiative at checkout.
At Maisons du Monde, we are convinced that having a roof over one's head where one feels safe is essential. That’s why we are committed to partnering with organizations that help create warm living spaces for those who need them.
Since the launch of Good is beautiful in 2022, 80 solidarity living spaces have been created.
For years, we have been contributing to supporting vulnerable groups by collaborating with various organizations, which have now become long-term partners: the French Red Cross, Emmaüs, the Fondation des Femmes...
Every year, around 100,000 products are donated to our partner organizations to furnish solidarity living spaces, thus providing comfort and solace to those who need it most.
With the French Red Cross, we help furnish centers in the child-family sector to support parents and promote the well-being of children. We also donate thousands of products to Emmaüs to fight against poverty in all its forms.
In response to the increase in domestic violence during the first lockdown in March 2020, Maisons du Monde’s support for the Fondation des Femmes helped create accommodations to address the situation of violence faced by these women and their children. Since these needs persist, we donate products to the Foundation each year to create new solidarity living spaces for women.
We also support the Fondation des Femmes in its efforts to promote gender equality and fight against the violence women face. In 2022, we contributed to the setup of the Train pour l'Egalité ("Train for Equality") to raise awareness of gender equality across France. In 2024, we furnished the VIP space for the charity concert Nos voix pour toutes ("Our Voices for All") to support the fight against violence towards women.
To encourage our customers to take action with us, we offer a solidarity candle each year on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women (November 25) and during the holiday season. 100% of the profits are donated to the Fondation des Femmes. Since 2023, the candle has been illustrated by artists engaged in the fight against violence towards women: Agathe Sorlet created the first edition, followed by Agathe Singer in 2024.
