At Maisons du Monde, we support women in vulnerable situations by donating thousands of products every year to help create inclusive living spaces, and we are committed to gender equality within our teams.

Welcoming and supportive living spaces

Because access to a safe, comfortable and dignified place to live is an essential driver of recovery, every year we donate thousands of products to associations that support women in vulnerable situations. Since 2022, 109 living spaces for solidarity have already been set up.

Our long-standing partnerships

For many years, we have been helping vulnerable groups by working with various associations, which have now become our long-term partners: the French Red Cross, Emmaüs, Fondation des Femmes… Every year, around 100,000 products are donated to them to help set up community living spaces, thereby providing comfort and support to those who need it most.

Maison des Femmes de Nancy

Our partnership with the Fondation des Femmes

Since 2020 – a year marked by a rise in domestic violence following the first national lockdown – Maisons du Monde has been actively supporting the Fondation des Femmes and its partner organisations by donating furniture and decorative items to furnish accommodation for women who are victims of violence and their children.

To encourage our customers to get involved, every year on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women (25 November), we also sell a solidarity candle, with all proceeds going to the Foundation. Since 2023, the candle has been designed by socially conscious artists: Agathe Sorlet for the first edition, followed by Agathe Singer in 2024 and Eloïse Gillard in 2025.

Equality in the workplace at the center of our teams

At Maisons du Monde, we take concrete action to promote equal opportunities and the empowerment of women, who make up 64% of our workforce. This commitment was recognised in June 2025 when we were awarded the Gold Trophy for “Gender Diversity in the Workplace” by the media outlet Décideurs RH.

This commitment is reflected in concrete actions:

  • Nearly 50% of our Top 100 executives are women.
  • A score of 92 out of 100 on the gender equality index in France and a trade union agreement setting out ambitious targets regarding parental leave, work-life balance and female leadership
  • The international roll-out of our internal Good for Women club, comprising 21 members, which raises awareness and implements concrete measures to improve women’s daily lives both within and outside the company, on issues such as health (endometriosis, breast cancer) and the fight against violence against women.
