We aim to support the mentoring of 500 young people by 2025.
At Maisons du Monde, we believe in people and the value to be found in our differences. We believe that everyone deserves to have every opportunity to grow and develop. As such, we have adopted a human resources management policy where everyone can find their place within a strong collective that promotes diversity and inclusion. Towards even greater equality of opportunity is the third commitment of our Good is beautiful movement.
As a responsible and civic-minded company, we continue to take concrete actions in support of three major causes: gender equality, youth support, and the inclusion of people with disabilities.
Maisons du Monde promotes the commitment and empowerment of women within the company:
- 66% of internal employees are women.
- A score of 91/100 on the gender equality index in France.
- In 2022, we signed an agreement with our trade unions, with ambitious goals regarding parenthood, work-life balance, and female leadership.
- We have implemented support and awareness initiatives with our Good for Women club (a club made up of 10 women from Maisons du Monde) on topics such as domestic violence, endometriosis, and support for illnesses like breast cancer.
We facilitate the integration and advancement of young people within Maisons du Monde:
- 177 new apprentices were hired in 2024, representing 5% of the workforce in apprenticeship programs.
- A partnership with the business school Audencia as part of the Sirius program to allow vocational high school students to enter a Bachelor’s degree, with partial coverage of their tuition fees.
- Launch of individual mentoring with the French organizations "Article 1" and "Banlieues School", as well as collective mentoring through the Innov’Avenir program, with a goal of mentoring 500 young people by 2025.
As part of our disability agreement for the 2024-2026 period, we aim for a 6% employment rate for people with disabilities in France. Other initiatives have also been implemented to promote their inclusion:
- 73% of managers have been trained in two key modules: "Recruitment and integration of a person with a disability" and "Maintaining employment for a person with a disability."
- Deployment of a disability policy in Europe, with the launch of specific programs in Italy and Spain for the recruitment of protected individuals.
